|OktoberFest is a celebration of the seasons, which we enjoyed as part of the Curious Kumquat’s successful party. With nearly every table filled, indoors and outdoors under the new shade canopies, folks were attempting to taste all 50 beers with brautwurst, and others enjoying a beer or two with fish tacos or other items from the regular menu.Afterward, we stayed to visit with friends. The weather was perfect – and we even got mild sunburns! Lovely October!
Then Sunday, Open Mike at Diane’s was another delight – a quality evening of music.
Every table was filled, and favorite performers like Barry Namm, Brandie, birthday boy Tyler (all three pictured here), Don, David, Karmen, Brandon, Esther, and Carla offered their music. The crowd was a great audience as well!
David Nelson added beautiful clarinet accompaniment to our set, and David and Greg sat in with Carla. Thanks to everyone for participating!
Then, on Thursday, October 18, we celebrated the Open House of our new community radio station’s new studios! There was a great crowd, lots of good vibes. We definitely enjoyed the new studio space, with huge windows onto the streets. We were joined again by David on clarinet; and Pete, relative newcomer, arrived with his keyboard to add a few original tunes.
Honored to be part of these wonderful celebrations of seasons changing and an independent media voice being raised for the community!
Wishing you an awesome autumn!
